Imes, R. W. “Chub”, 92, of Henrico, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 7, 2022. He was the widower of Ruth and Dulce, and was preceded in death by a son, Chris; daughter, Theresa; son in law, Greg and great-grandson, Nathan and is survived by a daughter, Thelma; son, Mark (Angie); grandchildren John (Ashley), David (Ashley), Bryant, April (Brad) and James; greatgrandchildren, Savannah, Kenly, and awaiting the birth of Ruthie; stepchildren, Duane, Mark and Janet; and numerous nieces and nephews. Chub served proudly in the Army during the Korean Conflict, then worked and retired from the City of Richmond as Survey Party Chief. He also worked at Halls tire and auto where he loved interacting with the customers. He loved all sports, especially the Redskins and the Nationals and was coach and a founder of Bethlehem Little League. Chub also loved his trips to Rosies and to Atlantic City, but above all, he loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 pm, Monday, September 12 at the West Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 11020 W. Broad St. A mass of Christian Burial will be conducted 11 am, Tuesday, September 13 St. Bridget Catholic Church, 6006 Three Chopt Rd, Richmond. Interment will be 1 pm Wednesday, September 14 at Signal Hill Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to St. Judes Childrens Research Hospital.
