In her 100 years she lived a blessed life. Born in the roaring 1920's into a railroad family living alongside the Richmond Fredericksburg & Potomac Railroad track in rural Laurel, Virginia, growing up in the depths of the Great Depression but having all the important things in life, living through World War II serving as an airplane spotter, dating soldiers and sailors serving all over the world, and marrying the one soldier that never gave up on becoming her life's partner. As she had promised she would do, she happily celebrated her 100" birthday on August 13, 2024 surrounded by her family and friends, expressing her love and support to each of them.

Polly was a faithful member of Trinity United Methodist Church, the Mastin Sunday School Class, and she was a frequent attendee at the church Wednesday night supper. She was a former member of Westhampton United Methodist Church, where she served as a Trustee and in numerous leadership roles. She was proud of her years as a homemaker, especially those years raising newborn twins and a toddler. When she returned to work she utilized her Smithdeal Massey Business College degree as an office manager for Electrolux and eventually as a Credit Union Branch manager for a number of small and large Credit Unions. She fully embraced the Credit Union mission and enjoyed helping her customers create savings and obtain loans. She loved socializing with friends in a wide range of interests including the Tri Club Women's Club, Westwood Garden Club, Women's Circles at church, Red Hats, the state and national Credit Union organizations, and the Henrico County Historical Society.

The family will have a private burial. A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 7, at 11:00 AM at Trinity UMC, 903 Forest Avenue, Richmond, VA 23229, with reception to follow in the church social hall. Memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church Mission Fund.
