Patrick Shane Wilson, 41, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at his home in Richmond, VA.

Shane was preceded in death by his father, Harold Roger Wilson; grandparents Ernest B. and Arvelene (Gravett) Wilson, and Gayther William and Nora Beatrice (Mullins) Johnson; several aunts and uncles including a very special aunt who was like a second mother to him, Erdene (Johnson) Hiller of Colonial Beach, VA; and his beloved, Sara Earley, of Richmond, VA.

He is survived by his loving mother, Deborah Darlene (Johnson) Wilson of Richmond; sister, Shannon (Wilson) Howd of Atlanta, GA; nieces Chelsea Hurst, Brittany Howd, and Aimee-Grace Howd of GA; nephew GT Howd of GA; aunt Fern Johnson of Lynco, WV; uncle Chuck Havert of Fairdale, WV; numerous cousins; and countless friends who loved him like a brother.

Shane was born in Charlottesville, VA on October 11, 1983. He grew up in Richmond and was a 2001 graduate of JR Tucker High School. He spent most of his adult life working for Papa John’s Pizza as a delivery driver and then manager. The past couple of years he worked for Marco’s Pizza and had recently been promoted to General Manager. He loved his Papa John’s and Marco’s family dearly.

Shane loved music and especially enjoyed going to concerts. He was an avid Boston Red Sox fan, enjoyed watching professional wrestling, cracking jokes with his friends and co-workers, and watching Marvel movies with his mom.

Shane had a huge heart and would give you the shirt off of his back, even if it was the only one he had. He was a devoted son and a loyal friend. No matter what he was going through, he always made time to lend an ear or a shoulder to cry on.

In keeping with his wishes, Shane will be cremated and his ashes will be buried next to his father’s at his family’s cemetery in Lynco, WV. His pizza family will be holding a celebration of life on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 from 5-7pm at The Beach House in Glen Allen, VA. His mother is also planning a celebration of life to be held in the near future.
