Patrick Henry Woods, 93, of Glen Allen, VA, beloved husband of 70 years to Virginia (Bowers) Woods, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 22, 2024.

Patrick was born on February 25, 1931, in Richmond, VA, to John Henry and Inez (Walker) Woods.

Pat was the president of his 1947 class at John Marshall High School and graduated from Randolph-Macon College. He earned his PhD in Chemistry from Baylor University and his law degree from University of Richmond. He was an Air Force veteran. He worked for several companies as a Chemical Materials Expert and taught Chemistry at J. Sargeant Reynolds. Along with family, his passion was travel. He visited all seven continents.

Along with his wife, Pat is survived by his five children: Stephen Woods and his wife Diane of Bellingham, WA, Mary Hackim and her husband Robert of Pinehurst, NC, Benjamin Woods and his wife Melanie of Midlothian, VA, Patricia Salafia and her husband Steve of Cromwell, CT, John Woods and his partner Lori of Glen Allen, VA.

He absolutely adored his grandchildren: Shannon, Brian, Justin, Tyler, Eli, Isaiah, Evan, Cali, Jory, Cheyenne, and Lauren. He took each grandchild on a double-digit birthday celebration trip at 10 years of age. Newest to the family are his great-grandchildren: Harrison, Leigh, Patrick, Henry, Crue, Zoe, and with two more on the way.

His "untold riches" are clearly among us.

A Catholic Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, October 30, at 1:00pm at St. Mary's Catholic Church on Gayton Road, followed by interment at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Family and friends may call on Tuesday, October 29th, from 6-9pm at Bliley's Funeral Home (Augusta Ave). There will be a prayer service at 8:30.
