Patricia Lail Bennett, 77, of Henrico, wife, mother and grandmother, passed away June 12, 2024. Born in Charlottesville, VA, she was the daughter of the late Wade Hampton Lail, Jr. and Annabelle Nissen Lail. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Thomas Nelson Bennett; two sons, Thomas Aubrey Bennett (Anna) and James Lail Bennett (Melissa); three grandchildren, Heather, Alexandra and Robert Bennett; three sisters, Anne Johnson Mann (Chuck), Carol Wade (Gene) and Melinda Spencer (Scott); a brother, Wade Hampton Lail III (Diane); a number of nieces and nephews; and a very special cousin of her husband, Jo Ann Leitch. Patricia was a graduate of Mary Washington College and was a former preschool teacher at Trinity United Methodist Church Preschool. She was a member of the Commonwealth and Ft. Loudoun Chapters of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She will be remembered by all for her unconditional love for her family and friends, and by many as the “cookie lady” for her chocolate chip cookies.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 20, at the West Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 11020 W. Broad Street. Her service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, June 21, in the Westhampton Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
