Norma Burns Fisher, 86, of Sandston, joined her heavenly father on Sunday, April 7, 2024. She was preceded in death by her high school sweetheart, love of her life, and husband of 49-1/2 years, Jack W. Fisher; grandson, Jeremy Fisher (Taylor); father, James H. Burns; mothers, Georgie Burns and Marion Burns; sisters, Helen Hutchinson, Miriam Bosher, Linda Edwards; and brother, Linwood Trainum.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Sheri Taylor (Donnie), Kim Mitchell (Siggy), Wesley Fisher (Alicia); grandchildren, Chris Ewell (Elaina), Kip Mitchell, Regina Scheuermann (Chris), Lindsey Lancaster (Aaron), Jessica Dills (Steve), Andrew Taylor (Amy), Elizabeth Dudley (Dennis), Spencer Fisher; 14 great-grandchildren, all who knew her as Nanny; and sisters, Bonnie Cheatham, Robin Wade, Pam Davis.

Norma retired from the Henrico County Police Division in 2000. She was a member of Fairmount Christian Church where she loved worshiping her heavenly father and had many devoted friends. Norma was an avid reader, loved listening to hymns for countless hours, taking car rides, and the color purple. In her last months, she loved watching boats traveling up and down the Chickahominy River and would alert all in the house that there was a boat going by. Norma was a wonderful mother who you could always count on.

A funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Monday, April 15, 2024, at Fairmount Christian Church, 6502 Creighton Rd., Mechanicsville, Va. 23111, with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Washington Memorial Park.
