Obituary - Nancy Lou Kinninger Roby

Nancy Lou (Kinninger) Roby passed away peacefully on September 4, 2023 with family at her side. Mrs. Roby was born March 13, 1941, in Minster, Ohio to Harry and Emma (Varno) Kinninger. She dedicated her life to raising her four children and providing daycare services for others. She enjoyed the beach, reading (especially mystery novels), coloring, crafts and had a passion for gardening. She is preceded in death by her husband John Edward Roby, her parents, seven siblings: Mildred (Charles) Moore, Alvina (Marvin) Simmerman, Gustwin (Loretta) Kinninger, Adrian (Lorena) Kinninger, Viola (Randall) VanSkiver, Urban Kinninger, Lula (Urban) Vondrell, father and mother-in-law Ralph and Eleanor Roby, brother-in-law Donald (Toni, Gina) Roby, and several nieces and nephews. She is survived by her four children, Cathy Buck of Richmond, Jeff (Becky) Roby of Goochland, Greg (Lillian) Roby of Bel Air, MD, and Mark (Cedric) Roby of Duck Key, FL, as well as seven grandchildren: Erin, Kyle and Laurey Buck, Dana, Emma, Jessica and Ethan Roby, sister-in-law Martha (James) Boehmer, and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive visitors on Thursday, September 14th at 6:00pm with a prayer vigil and eulogy at 8:00pm at Bliley Funeral Home, 3801 Augusta Ave., Richmond, VA. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, September 15th at 11:30am with reception following at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 9505 Gayton Rd., Richmond VA. Mrs. Roby loved flowers but would also appreciate donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
