Mary McLemore Wells, 95, of Henrico, went to her heavenly home on Sunday, April 11, 2021.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Thomas Moore; father, Floyd Gideon Moore; brothers, Thomas R. Moore, Ernest Moore and Winfred Moore; first husband, Clifton McLemore; and her second husband, Thomas Wells.

She graduated from Varina High School and later worked as a saleswoman for Thalhimers. Mary was a devoted member of Four Mile Creek Baptist Church and was the Travel Director for them. She loved playing cards, Bingo, flower gardening, cooking, painting, traveling and riding in the car.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Wayne McLemore, Troy McLemore (Leona), Tina DesChamps (Jay), Bonnie Bridgewater (Ron) and Peggy Shifflett (Jeff); grandchildren, Eugene J. DesChamps, Jr. (Stacy), Daniel McLemore, Warren McLemore, Lisa Walker (Lee), Matthew McLemore (Anna), Aubrey Grubbs (Elizabeth), Christina Shifflett, Austin Bridgewater (Kalyn), Zachary McLemore (Elizabeth), Clifton Bridgewater (Tiffany) and Katelyn Stern (Greg); great-grandchildren, Breanna DesChamps, Ellie Grace McLemore, Cameron Grubbs, Benjamin Grubbs, Grayson Grubbs, Eve and Wyatt Walker, Julia and Erica McLemore, Rosalie and Liam Bridgewater, Turner Bridgewater and Nora Stern; and a host of extended family and friends.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 from 4-8 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, Virginia 23231. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 15, 2021, at 10am at Four Mile Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, 2590 New Market Rd., Henrico, Virginia 23231. Please use back parking lot.

The family would like to thank Heartland Hospice, and the staff and former owner, Anna Pitts, of Covenant Columns Manor for their dedication and care of their mother over the last three years.
