Obituary - Mary Margaret Colgin

Mary Margaret Colgin, 78, went to be with the Lord after a long courageous battle with Alzheimer’s on Saturday, July 23, 2022.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard W. Colgin, JR, and her mother, Margaret Lee Rhymes. Mary is survived by her sister Cathie Tureski (Kenny); her two stepdaughters, Ronda Donnini (Leo), Patti Raymond (Charles); brother-in-law and loving friend Mark Colgin Laskey; nieces, Kimberly Bell and Mary Catherine Sheridan and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mary has two sons, Mark, and Tripp Boughan. Mary was always ready to meet you with her beautiful smile and gorgeous blue eyes. She was always a happy and cheerful person who could brighten up any day. Mary loved her last job at Builder Floor working in design and sales. Mary loved her church family at Hunton Baptist Church. She taught Sunday School for years. She made many friends in the ladies’ groups. Special thanks to Pat and Joyce for their visits with Mary over the past few years. Mary loved a good day of thrift shopping, ice cream, and animals. She never met a dog or cat she did not love. Many thanks to The Haven Assisted Living for taking care of Mary for a few years and to Bon Secours Community Hospice House for providing Mary a peaceful Transition to be with the Lord. Our family cannot thank you enough.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 11am Wednesday July 27, 2022 at Bliley’s – Staples Mill Chapel, 8510 Staples Mill Road, Richmond VA, where a service will be held at 11am. Interment in Woodland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Bon Secours Community Hospice or Hunton Baptist Church.
