Obituary - Mary Jo Hudson

Mary Jo Hudson, 83, of Henrico, Virginia went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 29, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Willie Hulcher; her husband, the love of her life, Butch Hudson and her beautiful granddaughter, Maggie Hudson.

She is survived by her son, Michael Damian Hudson, Sr. (Ginger) and daughter, Ginger Mary Hudson; one brother George Richard Hulcher of Fla; her wonderful grandchildren, Michael Damian Hudson, Jr. (Maria), Michelle Hudson Garnett (Nick), Nicholas Ryan Hudson, Megan Elizabeth Harrison (Matt); the apples of Maw’s eye, her great-grandchildren, Caroline Faith Garnett, Lyla Shae Harrison, Chloe Hope Garnett, Cooper Charles Garnett, Emma Hudson and Maggie Elliana Harrison; and nieces, Tricia Folsom (Terrell) and Laura Bottin (Fritz) of Fla; and the many children and parents that became family through the years.

For 39 years, Mary Jo rocked babies and spread love and joy to many, many children while owning a daycare with her daughter. She enjoyed spending as much time with her family as possible. One of her favorite places on earth was being at the Bay, riding on their boat, crabbing and beach combing with her children and late husband, Butch. She then continued the tradition of visiting the Bay with her grandchildren. She also love attending her grandchildren’s sporting events and dance recitals. One thing that will be remembered by all is her love of Christmas.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 from 6 pm - 8 pm at Woody’s Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at 1 pm at Woody’s Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
