Mary Belle Purks Stanley, 95, of Sandston passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2025.
She collected teapots, enjoyed puzzles, visiting the river and reading, but her greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Stanley, Sr.; mother, Mary Jane Tilley Purks; father, Wesley E. Purks; siblings, Dorothy Purks Stopko, Charlie Purks, Sr. and Wesley E. Purks, Jr.
She is survived by her children, Jim Stanley (Pat), Jane Stanley Ladd (Doug), Linda Stanley Keith and Janet Stanley Burke (Paul); grandchildren, Lori, Jimmy, Mary Anne, Cristina, Tara, Holli, Frankie, Jill, Doug, Kelly, Paul and Emily; great-grandchildren, Calyn, Kyndall, Karalyn, Madalyn, Addison, Austin, Braylon, Madison, Caleb, Savannah, Josh, Baylee, Bryce, Brylee, Jordan, Jeremiah, Ryker, Mila, Clara, Bailey and Colton.
The family will receive friends Monday, February 10, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, VA 23231 where a funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 11, at 10 a.m.
Interment will follow at Washington Memorial Park.
