Obituary - Marie Louise Bowers Marshall

Marie Louise “Mary Lou” Bowers Marshall, 85, of Sandston passed away on Tuesday, August 22, 2023.

She was a graduate of John Marshall High School and went to work at the telephone company. Upon getting married, she become a stay at home mom and eventually went back into the workforce as an employee of B & B Seafood and Charles E. Bauers Wholesales before retiring from the Henrico County Public School System. She was a lifetime member of the Sandston Moose Lodge 1937 and was an avid seamstress altering and creating many items of clothing for the community. She will be truly missed by her family, friends and customers.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde G. Marshall; parents, Louise Tucker and Raymond Bowers, Sr.; and brother and sister-in-law, Raymond “Red” Bowers, Jr. and Mary Bowers.

She is survived by her children, Douglas Marshall (Michele), Sandra Marshall (Butch), Brenda Marshall Vaughan and Randy Marshall (Diane); grandchildren, Daniel, Travis, Christine, Douglas, Amanda, Lindsay, Robert and Nicholas; and 13 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Friday, September 1, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. with a Moose Ritual and Regalia at 7 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, VA 23231.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, September 2, at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.

Interment will follow in Washington Memorial Park.

Memorial donations may be made to the Sandston Moose Lodge 1937.
