Marie B. Coleman, 96, of Highland Springs, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 9, 2022. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Coleman; children, Michael Wood and Sherry Hutchinson; and her beloved cat, Little Girl.
Marie enjoyed puzzles, crafts, reading, watching gameshows and her soaps, and visits from her family. She retired as a switchboard operator from Bell Atlantic. She was a longtime member of New Bridge Baptist Church and stopped attending when her health declined but her faith remained. Marie’s secret to youth was Olay face lotion, Whitman’s chocolate, and cold Pepsi.
Left to cherish her memory are her grandchildren, Jay and Jerry Wood; great-grandchildren, Shaun and Nichole “Nicki” Wood; great-great-grandchildren, Jaylynn and Royce Wood; special caretaker, Chloe Wood; son-in-law, Ricky Hutchinson; and her beloved cats, Muffin and Ant.
The family would like to thank Suncrest Hospice for caring for Marie throughout her battle with dementia, especially Ashley and Jewel. We would also like to thank our friends, neighbors, and co-workers for their support and for checking on Marie - your kindness meant the world to us.
