Obituary - Margie Jane Lange

Margie Jane Lange, age 88, of Sandston, Virginia was rewarded with her wings on Friday, July 7, 2023.

She was preceded in death by her former-husband, Fred H Lange Jr.; parents; brothers; and sister.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Karen Dodson (David), Sharen Wood (Linny), and Fred Lange III (Sheri); grandchildren, Erice Melton (Brad), Gregory Williams (Katie), Kayla Lange, Matthew Lange, Andrew Lange, and Joshua Lange; great-grandchild, Landon Melton; sisters, Janet Doyle and Dot Smith; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as her dear grand-dog, Sophie.

Margie was a majorette in high school. She loved sports and played basketball in her younger years. She kept her love of sports and often watched any competitive sport she could find. Time with her family was of the most importance to Margie, she loved to getting her rest with Karen; dressing up for pictures with Sharen; and going metal-detecting with Fred.

Her children revere their mother dearly. She will be remembered for her simple and selfless nature. Anyone who had the blessing of knowing Margie would immediately be greeted with her genuine care and support as she never met a stranger. Those who knew her will cherish the many crafts she gifted and miss her hosting family picnics and holiday gatherings. They will especially miss her delicious gingerbread cookies and baked goods.

A graveside service will be held at 11am on Thursday, July 13, 2023 at Washington Memorial Park, 6217 Memorial Dr, Sandston, VA 23150.
