Loyd Frederick Towers, II, 80, of Henrico, Virginia, passed away at Henrico Doctors Hospital with his loving wife Judith by his side.
Fred was the son of the late Loyd Frederick and Evelyn (Pierce) Towers. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Judith (Coleman) Towers, and cousins Bobbie Tinsley, Ken Knust, and Jean Marshall.
Beginning in 1968 Fred taught chemistry at Hermitage High School for a number of years and then worked as a Computer Specialist for the Federal Government at U. S. Defense Supply Center, Richmond until his retirement.
He especially enjoyed his amateur radio hobby and made many “ham” friends over the years.
Graveside services will be held in Fred’s honor at Forest Lawn Cemetery, 4000 Pilots Lane, Richmond, Virginia, at 3:00pm on Thursday, March 27, 2025.
