Obituary - Lorraine Zachar Mawyer

Lorraine Zachar Mawyer, 90, of Richmond, passed away on Monday, March 7, 2022. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Harold S. Mawyer; daughter, Pamela Diane Mawyer and sister, Arline Pass. She is survived by her daughter, Linda M. Taylor (Charlie) of Mechanicsville; son, H. Keith Mawyer (Sandra) of Amelia; sisters, Carol Carpenter (Ray), Nancy Hahn (David); grandchildren, Chad Taylor, Jason Taylor (Sarah), Jeannette M. Hester (Tanner); great-grandchildren, Brock and Alyssa Taylor; and many nieces and nephews. Lorraine was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She worked for Reynolds Metals and for the food service at Douglas Freeman High School. Our deepest appreciation for the loving care she received from At Home Care Hospice as well as the devotion, care and kindness given Lorraine at her home, Vitality Senior Living of Richmond West End. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, March 11, 2022 at Bliley’s, 8510 Staples Mill Road. A graveside service will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at Westhampton Memorial Park.
