CORETH, Lawrence Alexander, “Larry,” left this life early on September 29, 2022, to be with our Lord and Savior. He will be deeply missed until we are reunited at the resurrection.

Larry was born in 1949 in Winchester, Va. He lived his early years in Frankfurt, Germany and Hartsdale, N.Y. After moving to Richmond, he graduated from Douglas Freeman High School in 1967. He went on to study aerospace engineering at North Carolina State University in Raleigh, N.C., where he was a member of the Theta Chi Fraternity. Following graduation, Larry pursued engineering positions with Richmond Engineering, Thiokol Corporation and Babcock & Wilcox, finally settling in Roanoke Rapids, N.C. with AIRMOLD, later known as W.R. Grace & Company. Most recently, he did engineering work for Kidde Aerospace in Wilson, N.C.

Throughout his adult life, Larry’s greatest joy was performing “hands on engineering” on various motorcycles and his beloved Porsches. He was always pleased to share his knowledge of anything mechanical with friends and fellow members of the clubs related to his vehicles.

He is survived by his children, Andrea Coreth of Charlotte, N.C., Stefan (Chloe) Coreth of Bend, Ore.; and their mother, Pat Banki of Charlotte, N.C.; his brother, Chuck (Marcia) Coreth of Richmond, Va.; his niece, Alex Coreth of Denver, Colo.; and his many cousins and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Richmond, Va., at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 15, 2022 at St. Bridget Catholic Church, 6011 Three Chopt Road, followed by interment in Westhampton Memorial Park at Patterson Avenue and Gaskins Road. Condolences may be made at Blileys.com.

Memorials can be made to the Theta Chi Foundation Chapter (thetachi.org) or National Public Radio (NPR.org).
