On Thursday, February 11, 2021, Kevin B. Blunt went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Kevin was born in 1953 and grew up in Richmond, VA. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 44 years, Debbie. He also leaves behind a daughter, Christy, son in law, Jeremy Seward and a son, Ryan, and daughter in law, Kate Blunt. Also, three grandchildren: Bella, Peyton, and Patrick Seward, whom he adored. Also, left behind, are two older sisters, Denise and Pamela, and one older brother, Michael,(Jumahl). Kevin graduated from Hermitage High School and in 1982-2010, Kevin served as President and owner of his own business, Atlee Electrical Corporation.

Kevin was a ‘larger than life’ kind of guy! He lived each day to the fullest! He loved anything with wheels. He owned almost every type of bicycle ever made…he also owned numerous motorcycles and loved ‘taking to the open road.’ He rode with friends and clubs. Kevin did excellent carpentry, woodworking, and stained-glass work. He could ‘fix,’ ‘build,’ or ‘make’ most anything he set his mind to. A lot of his work went as gifts to others.

Kevin and his wife owned a Recreational Vehicle that they enjoyed in summers at Sandbridge, VA. Sandbridge was Kevin’s ‘little slice of heaven.’ For many years, Kevin and Debbie spent a good portion of their summers in their trailer enjoying the ocean and beach-life. Kevin made a lot of good friends there, and actively served on the Surfside condominium board for several years.

Kevin was well known for standing up for what was right and decent in life. He was active in trying to make things ‘better,’ wherever he went. He appeared a few times on “12 On Your Side” television trying to help people that had been wronged. If he heard of someone in need, he would do his best to help alleviate that need. Kevin helped many people through the years, but seldom took any credit for his good deeds. He never met a stranger; he could (and did) talk to anyone! His winsome personality could bring a smile to anyone’s face. Close friends knew him to be a master at teasing, teasing that was always done with a generous portion of humor and love.

Kevin and his wife, Debbie, became members of Cool Spring Baptist Church in Mechanicsville in the late 80s. He was active in church work and often contributed his talents in doing electrical work in the building. He acted as an usher, served on committees, and enjoyed serving as President of his Sunday school class for close to 30 years. Kevin made a ‘dynamite’ auctioneer at many fundraisers his class did. Kevin wore his faith proudly on his sleeve; he was not shy to share his faith with anyone that would listen. Kevin exhibited a great trust in God, particularly as he fought his 17-year-long battle with various cancers. During this time, he was uncomplaining, always optimistic, and seldom allowed conversations to be about himself. He was always more interested in others than in himself. He was eternally grateful to his doctor and nurses who added quality to his life, during his battles with cancer.

The world is going to miss Kevin a great deal! Any of us that crossed paths with Kevin were blessed to know him. His examples in life taught many that knew him how to live a good life, and fight a good fight. He was fearless because he always knew he was in the loving hands of His Savior. He has made his mark and won’t be forgotten! May Kevin keep right on living life to the fullest, as Heaven opens its doors to him!

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, February 26, 2021 at Cool Spring Baptist Church, 9283 Atlee Station Rd., Mechanicsville, VA 23116. The family requests that everyone in attendance exercise social distancing and wear a mask.
