Obituary - Jun Rivera Aquilo

The family of Jun Rivera Aquilo of Glen Allen, VA is saddened to announce his passing on December 29th, 2024, at the age of 52 years. He was born in Danville, Virginia, on May 26th, 1972, to parents Marcelina Aquilo and Ignacio Obispo Aquilo, Jr, (Jun). He was preceded in death by his father, Ignacio Obispo Aquilo, Jr. He is survived by his wife, Melissa Aquilo, and two sons, Adam Aquilo and Owen Aquilo; his mother, Marcelina Aquilo; his brother, Dennis Aquilo (Lisa, Carina); his brother, Norm Aquilo; and his sister, Nanette Young (Jim).

Jun was known for his generosity, his sense of humor, and his kind spirit. In recent years, he discovered a passion for playing the ukulele, bringing joy and laughter to those around him with his music.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on January 4th, 2025, at 12:30 PM at Our Lady of Lourdes, located at 8200 Woodman Road, Henrico, VA followed by interment at Roselawn Memory Gardens. A celebration of his life will follow at 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Atlas 42, located at 4035 Innslake Drive, Glen Allen, VA. In the spirit of his own generosity, donations in his honor to the National Kidney Foundation would be appreciated.
