Obituary - Joseph Henry Lynch

LYNCH, Joseph Henry “Joe”, 87, died August 16, 2022. He was predeceased by his brothers Frank and Tom. Joe is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Jane; and children, Joe and his wife Kathy, Dennis and his wife Susan, Bob, Tim and his wife Amanda, Mary Beth and her husband John Shelton. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, Joe (Erin), Megan (Tim Henson), Michael (Lindsay), Brian (Melissa), Kevin (Kim), Candice (Kevin Schwalbach), Ben, Rebecca, Katelyn, Diane, Jack, Clayton, Gabriel, William Lynch, Sarah and Julia Shelton; and 16 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Margaret McLaughlin of Wilmington, N.C.

Joe was a 1957 graduate of St. Francis College in Brooklyn, N.Y. and a founding member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. He retired in 2004 from Shurtape Technologies where he served as Vice President of National Accounts. In his later years he was a volunteer at St. Mary’s Hospital. The family will receive friends at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Thursday, August 25 at 12:30 p.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1:30 p.m. Internment at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church at 9505 Gayton Road, Richmond, Va. 23229.
