Obituary - Joseph Eubank Wright Jr.

Wright, Jr., Joseph Eubank, 81, of Glen Allen, VA passed away surrounded by his family on February 4, 2023. He was born on September 22, 1941. He is survived by his loving wife, Gayle/Abby; sons, Joseph “Trae” Eubank III (Jennifer), Stephen Gregory (Sherry); daughters, Ashley Elizabeth (Angela) and Jennifer Walters (Steve). He was PaPa Joe to his grandchildren, Charles Joseph “CJ”, Kendahl, Sidney, Kellan, Conner, Emery, Jaxson, and Max. He is also survived by his brother, Burch (Ann), and sister, Janette (Scott).

Joe graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University and began his career in banking at Dominion Banking, rising to Executive Vice President. He later retired from Anthem.

PaPa Joe will be missed for his infectious humor that made us all laugh for his silly antics. He was devoted to his family in every way, passing along wisdom to prepare us all for life. A naturally gifted musician, he played banjo and mandolin for the enjoyment of so many. He loved life and had many interests including playing tennis, watching Richmond Braves games, Disney World, Bluegrass festivals, brownies, chocolate ice cream, brownies, and more chocolate ice cream.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 pm on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at Bliley’s – Staples Mill. A Celebration of Life will follow at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution in Joe’s name to a charity of your choice.
