Obituary - John Thomas O’Neill

John Thomas O’Neill, 82, of Henrico, passed away on Monday, February 17, 2025. Born in Washington D.C., he was the son of the late Andrew and Frances Linnane O’Neill. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Ann O’Neill, Martin O’Neill, and Henry O’Neill.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 29 years, Sandra O’Neill; brother, Joseph O’Neill (Elizabeth); and nephews, John P. O’Neill and Henry O’Neill.

John was an ordained minister and served in Washington D.C. and Virginia. He went on to work with the Virginia State Police in Communications for 20 years until retirement. He was known for his intellect and was always eager to learn new things. His favorite hobby was ham radio which he remained active in his whole life. John had a kind spirit and a loving heart. He will be dearly missed.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at Gayton Kirk Presbyterian Church.
