Obituary - Jean P. Bowersox

Jean P. Bowersox, 90, of Henrico, VA passed away on December 10, 2021. She is preceded in death by her husband, Al Bowersox. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Wainwright; granddaughter, Valerie Martin (Wil); great grandchildren, Brendan and Brianna Martin and her sisters, Grace Weber, Etha Benner and Ruth Dunlap. Jean was born and raised on a farm in DuBois, Pennsylvania. She had eight siblings and loved to talk about the hard work and fun they had growing up. She married her beloved Albert in 1949. Her husband took a job in Richmond, Virginia. So, off they went to make their home and raise their daughter, Sandra. Jean was a devoted wife and mother. She worked as a CNA at Children's Hospital for many years before retiring from there. Jean enjoyed many hobbies including ceramics, gardening, collecting Longaberger baskets and spending lots of time with her granddaughter Valerie and her husband Wil and their children Brendan and Brianna. She loved her family. Jean was a woman of strong faith. She was a Deacon at her church and served on many committees over the years. She was a kind neighbor and a loving friend. She will be missed by all who knew her. Funeral Services will be held at North Run Baptist Church, 2100 Lydell Drive, on December 16, 2021 at 12 p.m. A visitation will be held 1 hour prior. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to North Run Baptist Church Pre-K or to your local SPCA.
