J. Ralph Trickett, age 93 of Henrico, went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 2, 2021. Ralph is survived by his daughter, Denise Krevonick (Emil); son, Scott Trickett (Karen); grandchildren, E.C. Krevonick (Karen); Michael Krevonick (Erin); Mallory Manriquez (Joe); Carrie Trickett, and Justin Trickett. He is also survived by his great grandchildren Trace Krevonick, Drew Krevonick, and Mikey Krevonick; and his sister Neva Melton. Ralph was preceded in death by his loving wife of 70 years, Christine; parents, Lula Carpenter Trickett and Henry Oscar Trickett; two sisters and several half brothers and sisters. Ralph was a great family man, a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. Ralph enjoyed singing, golfing, bowling, square dancing, and spending time with his family. Ralph is a WWII veteran who proudly served in the Army earning a WWII Victory Ribbon. He retired in 1988 as the Mechanical Trades Supervisor for Henrico County Public Schools, Construction and Maintenance Department. Ralph formed the first Teenage Square Dance Club in the Richmond Area and was the Club Caller for the Clover Leaf Squares for many years. He formed the Circle Eight Square Dance Club and taught square dance workshops each week for 25 years before retiring. Ralph continued square dancing for many years after retirement, traveling to many cities along the eastern seaboard. He is an honorary member of the Central Virginia Callers Association and was a member of the National Callers Association. Ralph was a member and Past Commander of the American Legion Post 233 in Varina and later a member of the Frierson-Nichols Post 8 of Winter Haven, Florida. He was also a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #1023, in Winter Haven. Upon returning to Virginia, Ralph became a member of the American Legion Post 125 located in Lakeside before rejoining Post 233. Visitation with the family is Thursday, January 7, from 6 to 8 PM at Bliley’s Funeral Home, Staples Mill Road Chapel. A funeral service is scheduled for Friday, January 8, at 1:00 PM with a private interment at Washington Memorial Cemetery. Pastor Mike McMeniman of Four Mile Creek Baptist Church will officiate. We welcome you to attend and celebrate Ralph’s life. The family would like to thank the Sunrise Tuckahoe staff and nurses for their care of Ralph. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Stephen Siller’s Tunnel to Towers Foundation which is committed to helping heroes, both living and fallen. The foundation is to honor the sacrifice of firefighter, Stephen Siller on September 11, 2011.
