TAYLOR, Ida Laverne Winn went to be with the Lord on July 17, 2024, at the age of 79. She preceded in death by her parents Edward Lewis Winn and Bessie Ailiff Winn; 2 brothers Edward Lewis Winn, Jr. and Richard Griffin Winn, and one nephew Richard Griffin Winn Jr. She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Claude Alvin Taylor; daughter Diana Lynn Nunnally; step-son and step-daughter Greg Taylor (Kathy) and Kendal Taylor McCarthy (Jim); brothers Herbert Gordon Winn of New Canton, VA, Michael Lee Winn (Marie) of Goochland, VA, one sister Alice Winn Phillips of Richmond; 7 nieces and nephews; "adopted son” JT Williams, and two beloved grandkitties Zack and Zoe.

Mrs. Taylor worked various short-term jobs, but many years for Sears & Roebuck, Broad St. She retired from Ukrops-Dumbarton as both Deli and Floral manager. She was formerly a member of Skipwith Baptist Church where she was a beloved "mom" to the youth group, and currently is a member of Hatcher Memorial Baptist Church. She was formerly a member of the Castanets of the ACCA Temple shriners, and was also involved with Job's Daughters. She loved renovating her home and landscape, and we believe if given all the right tools she could build a house. She loved watching cooking and house renovation shows. She especially loved hosting most family gatherings.

Receiving of family and friends will be held at Woody Funeral Home,1771 N Parham Rd on July 25, 2024 from 4 to 7 pm. A private graveside (Mausoleum) service will be held Friday, 26, 2024 at noon at Westhampton Memorial Cemetery.

Her family wants to thank hospice nurses Brook and Rosel of Affinity Care of VA for their loving and compassionate care of our wife, mother, and sister during her last hours.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hatcher Memorial Baptist Church or the McShin Foundation, both at 2300 Dumbarton Road, Richmond, VA.
