MOSS, Harry R., 85, of Short Pump, passed away peacefully at his home on January 16, 2022. Harry was the son of the late Cosby and Gladys Moss. Harry was also preceded in death by his sisters, Edith Longest and Mamie Cheseldine. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Peggy; a daughter, Angela Moss Clemons (Michael), of Manakin-Sabot; a son, Rodney Moss (Stephanie), of Decatur, GA; a grandson, Geoffrey Clemons; granddaughters Caroline Moss and Sarah Moss; a brother, Raymond Moss (Peggy); and sisters, Jeanette Moss, Vernell Moss, and Stella Moss. Harry grew up in Buckingham County, Virginia and graduated from Buckingham Central High School. After graduation in 1958, he moved to Richmond where he met his lovely wife and became a successful commercial contractor for over 33 years. He spent many of those years as a commercial contractor working at Philip Morris facilities throughout the Richmond area. During his retirement, Harry kept very busy working at the Our Lady of Hope Health Center in the maintenance department. He loved and enjoyed his grandchildren, hunting, driving his tractors, and mowing his four acre lawn weekly. The family will receive friends from 3:30 to 6 p.m. Friday at the West Chapel of the Bennett Funeral Home, 11020 W. Broad St. Graveside services will be held Noon Saturday, January 22, 2022 at Greensville Memorial Cemetery, 1250 Skippers Rd., Emporia, VA 23847.
