It is with great sadness that the Ghataora family announces the passing of Hardeep “H” Singh Ghataora. He passed away unexpectedly the evening of July 8th at the age of 48 after a long battle with End Stage Renal Disease. Hardeep was born April 16, 1974, in Birmingham, England but was a longtime resident of Henrico, Virginia with his wife Angela and their two children, Andrew and Cian.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 22 years, Angela (Kurz) Ghataora of Richmond, Virginia; his two children, Andrew John Ghataora and his partner Emily Adams DeVaux and their son Jackson Andrew Ghataora of Glastonbury, Connecticut; and Cian Valentine Singh-Kaur Ghataora and their partner Lauren “Duck” Ashlee Montague of Richmond, Virginia; his Mother Mohinder Kaur Ghataora of Birmingham, England; his sister Balvinder Kaur (Ghataora) Forwell and her husband Steven James Forwell of Birmingham, England; his brother Jasdeep Singh Ghataora of Birmingham, England; and his Father and Mother in-law John Howard Henley and Candice Elizabeth (Booth) Henley of Greenwich New York; his brother in law Philip Herbert Kurz IV and his partner Tricia Jean Nellis of Greenwich, New York as well as numerous relatives and friends from around the world.

He was predeceased by his father Joginder Singh Ghataora of Birmingham, England, his paternal Grandfather Pritam Singh Ghataora and Grandmother Kartar Kaur Ghataora as well as his maternal Grandfather Tara Singh Degun and Grandmother Gurbax Kaur Degun.

Hardeep was a devoted son, husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend that would bring a room or gathering to life with just his presence. Many will remember him for his love of his family and friends, his passion for learning, his brilliance with technology, his obsession with all things Christmas and Santa Claus, and his appreciation for bad Dad jokes and internet memes. Hardeep enjoyed spending time with his family and friends as well as tinkering on his computers and gadgets. He was always happiest when he got to spend time with his wife, children, siblings, his grandson Jackson and was anticipating the arrival of his second grandson Henry in August. Hardeep was a dedicated employee of the Federal Reserve Bank for over 15 years and was currently working on his Masters in Business with a focus in IT at Virginia Commonwealth University.

Visitation will be held Friday July 22, 2022, from 3-5 pm and 7-9 pm at Woody Funeral Home; 1771 North Parham Road, Richmond, VA 23229. Funeral services will be held Saturday July 23, 2022, at 10 am also at Woody Funeral Home on North Parham Road.

Memorial Donations may be made in the name of Hardeep Ghataora to Donate Life America in the United States or Macmillan Cancer Support in England.

The family would like to send a special thank you to the staff at Richmond Nephrology, DaVita Dialysis of Richmond, the Tuckahoe Volunteer Rescue Squad, and the Emergency staff at Henrico Doctors Hospital.
