Grace Pauline Stayton went to be with our Lord on April 8, 2023.
She was born on December 11, 1930, in Richmond, Virginia to Frank and Annie Caldwell. Grace was the last surviving of eight children born to Frank and Annie. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sheila; husband, Paul; and granddaughter, Victoria.
Grace is survived by her son, Paul; daughter, Kathleen; several nieces and nephews on both sides of the family; grandsons, Michael and Adam; granddaughter, Faeryn Grace; great-grandchildren, Mathew, Ellaina Grace, Lillian Grace, Alana, Harper, and Kinley.
Grace was a member of the Varina’s Women’s Club, founding member of Flower Cart Garden Club, deaconess of Pioneer Baptist Church, member of multiple committees for Pioneer Baptist Church, contributing writer of a column about Varina in the Richmond Times Dispatch, two art clubs in Citrus Springs, FL, and attended North Oak Baptist church for 30 years, and a member of Pioneer Baptist Church in Varina, Virginia for over 60 years. Grace enjoyed travelling, painting, spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, gardening, and was very proud of her flowers in Virginia and Florida.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 6 p.m. on Monday, April 17, 2023 at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, VA 23231, where a funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Tuesday, April 18, 2023. Interment will follow in Washington Memorial Park.
