Gloria Lorraine Hatcher, 86, of Henrico, Virginia, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2025.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard J. Hatcher Sr.
Born and raised in New York, Gloria pursued higher education at Baruch College, earning her associate degree before embarking on a lifelong career as a legal secretary. She brought professionalism and diligence to her work, retiring 21 years ago after many years of service.
In her well-earned retirement, Gloria found joy in life’s simple pleasures, often spending quiet moments playing solitaire. But her greatest happiness came from her family. Left to cherish her memory are her four children, Richard Jr., Anthony, Jerrina, and Chris; grandchildren, Marquel, LaTashia, Brandon, Martinique, and Briana; and eleven great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her loving sister, Shirley Lord as well as several nieces and nephews, all of whom will miss her deeply.
Gloria’s warmth, wisdom, and unwavering love for her family will be forever remembered. Her legacy lives on in the generations she nurtured, guided, and inspired.
The family will receive friends from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday, March 24, 2025 at Woody Funeral Home - Atlee Chapel, 9271 Shady Grove Rd., Mechanicsville, VA 23238 where a funeral service will begin at 1 p.m.
