Geraldine “Jerrie” Spivey, 88, of Varina, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 12, 2024.

Jerrie was the youngest of two children born on December 24, 1935, to Louis Aigner, Sr. and Dorothy Muriel Aigner. She was a dedicated wife to her husband of 60 years, John Jordan Spivey, Jr., who preceded her in death along with her brother, Louis Aigner, Jr., and daughter, Virginia “Ginger” Clarke.

She is survived by her son, John Mark Spivey (Melody); grandchildren, Dalton Clarke, Maisie Spivey Goodwin (Christian), John Mark Spivey, Jr. (Kayla), and Emmie Spivey; a great grandson, Beau Mark Spivey; as well as a host of family and friends.

Jerrie graduated as Valedictorian from Varina High School in Henrico County, then attended Pan-American Business School in Richmond. She was a dedicated housewife and eventually became the bookkeeper for the family businesses of Varina Refrigeration and Icemakers, Inc. She retired in 1997 and dedicated her spare time to special ministries at Four Mile Creek Baptist Church and her grandchildren. Jerrie loved to spread the good news of Jesus. She enjoyed playing the organ, piano, and flower gardening.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 20 from 2 to 5 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond. Services will be held on Monday at 2 p.m. at Four Mile Creek Baptist Church, 2950 New Market Rd., Richmond.
