George F. Richards, 87, of Sandston, passed away on July 19, 2023.
He was born to the late Walter and Evelyn Richards on October 31, 1935.
George was preceded in death by his brothers, Norman, Lew, Larry; and the love of his life, Lula H. Richards.
Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Ronnie Barlow (Jenny), Roy Richards (Anita); daughter, Sandra Snyder (Ray); four grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
George retired from Philip Morris in May of 1986. He enjoyed bowling and baseball. George was on the Board of Directors for the Greater Richmond Bowling Association, he was a youth bowling instructor at Bowl America Eastern, and was elected into the GRBA Hall of Fame in 2001.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 25, at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, Va. 23231. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 26, at 11 a.m. in Washington Memorial Park, 6217 Memorial Dr., Sandston, Va., 23150.
