It is with great sadness that the family of Gentry Bell, announce his passing at the age of 83 in Richmond, Virginia. A devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away on January 24, 2025, with his family by his side. He was predeceased by his parents, Eula and Bernice Bell. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 59 years, Valerie; his daughters, Krystina Stansberry (Bruce); Terri McAuliff (Steve); son, David Bell (Brooke); grandchildren: Zach (Mayra), Shannon (Jon), Sara Beth (Jared), Rachel, Anne Marie, Joe, Caroline, Riley, Blaise; and two great-granddaughters: Goldie and Eva. He now leaves his best friend, Eddie Jenkins, to solve the problems of the world on his own.

A life-long Richmond native, Jackie graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1960. Upon graduation, he served in the Air Force, with an honorable discharge in October 1964. Upon his discharge, he joined the Henrico County Police Department. After receiving his degree from Virginia Commonwealth University, he started a new career in 1974 and retired after twenty-two years at Dominion Energy Company. During retirement, he served on several committees with Henrico County government.

A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, February 6, 2025 at Saint Michael’s Catholic Church, 4491 Springfield Road, Glen Allen, VA 23060. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m., and Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. with inurnment in the Columbarium following the service. There will be a reception at the church following the inurnment.
