Obituary - Franklin E. Guess Sr.

Franklin E. Guess, Sr., 86, of Henrico, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 25, 2023. He was preceded in death by his son, Frankie Guess, Jr.
Frank served in the U.S. Navy from 1955 to 1963. He loved coaching softball, playing ping pong, checkers, and board games. Frank enjoyed watching sports, especially boxing. He also loved doing yardwork and sitting in the sun.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Shirley A. Guess; children, Kathy Weeks (Mike), Sheri Newcomb (Jimmy); grandchildren, Crystal Holloway (Brandon), Allen Weeks, Taylor Conway (J.C.), Jimbo Newcomb; six great grandchildren; as well as a host of extended family and friends.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 30, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, Va. 23231, where a funeral service will be held on Friday, December 1, at 12 noon. Interment will follow in Washington Memorial Park.
