Emogene Crook Sims, 85, of Richmond, VA, went to be with the Lord on January 21, 2024. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph Thomas Sims; sisters, Delores Griffin and Gertrude Wright; son in law, Keki Rusi Engineer. Emogene is survived by her loving children, Jo Anne Sims Fowler (Russell), T. Barry Sims, Toni Engineer, Sherry Sims Pierce (Mark), Becki Sims Pere (Jon); grandchildren, Andy Sims, Leigh Fowler, Nathan Jenkins, Matthew Sims, Samuel Jenkins, Brandon Pierce, Ariel McEachin, Lauren Bailey, Bobby Rodriguez, Alyssa Ardura, and Alex Rodriguez; 17 great-grandchildren; sister, Andrea Brooks (Okey ‘Buddy’); as well as many nieces, nephews, and children whom she has fostered throughout the years. Emogene’s joy in life was helping children, fostering dozens and working for Henrico County Schools in transportation. She loved the Lord, and is one of the last founding members of Monument Heights Baptist Church. Emogene will truly be missed by all those whose lives she touched.
