Obituary - Edward Harry Shaia

Edward Harry Shaia, 97, of Henrico, entered into eternal peace on April 29, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Zackia Shaia; and sons-in-law, Scott McGough and Tom Anthony. He is survived by his wife of 73 loving years, Marie Nesrallah Shaia; children, Rose Marie Shaia, Rebecca Anthony, Dr. Paul Shaia (Lina), Theresa Bergen (Ron), Dr. Elizabeth Shaia, Anita Shaia, Bernadette Shaia and Gerard Shaia (Margaret); 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; brother, Harry Shaia Jr.; and a host of family and friends.
Eddie was the owner of the Skull & Bones Restaurant next to MCV Hospital for over 65 years. Upon retirement, he volunteered at St. Mary’s Catholic School for 22 years. He was a longtime devoted parish member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 3 from 6 to 7 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 9505 Gayton Road, where a Prayer Service will be held at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, May 4 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Westhampton Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic School or Church.
