MARKS, Edward Brent, It is with a heavy heart that the family of Edward Brent Marks announces his passing on Monday, April 19, 2021 at the age of 70. “Eddie” was predeceased by his parents Elsa Brent Marks and Adolph Hirsch Marks. Eddie will always be remembered and treasured by his brother Jeff Marks (Amy) and sisters Joni Novey (Bari) and Debbie Fitzgerald (Bob). Fondly known as Uncle Eddie, he was adored by his nieces and nephews and his extended family members. Eddie was born on what we all knew to be a “national holiday” - June 14th. No one would/could ever forget this date. A proud graduate of Tucker High School in 1970, Eddie was a lifelong Tiger. He was a beloved staff member of the Virginia Museum cafeteria for over 30 years, Eddie never met a stranger and during those three decades we are sure few failed to meet him too. An avid sports fan, Eddie would cheer on almost any team, though his favorites were the Washington Redskins and Richmond Braves (Flying Squirrels). Eddie also enjoyed music and food with tastes for each that knew no limits. Eddie was a kind and gentle soul who loved the little things in life-- a simple conversation, a good meal, sitting outside in his chair, a short trip to almost anywhere, and time spent with friends and family. Though he lived into his 70’s Eddie never lost that childlike sparkle and sense of excitement that just made Eddie, Eddie. Graveside services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, April 22, 2021 at Greenwood Memorial Gardens, 12609 Patterson Ave. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in his memory be made to Good Neighbor Village, P.O Box 38413, Richmond, Virginia 23231.
