MYRICK, Eartha Mae, 76, of Henrico, Va. earned her wings July 27, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lemuel and Annie Bell Mack; and siblings, Bessie Mack, Nathaniel Mack, Grant Mack and Jessie Cage (Clemmie). She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Wardell Myrick; children, Sharron D. Hicks (Roger), JC Brown, Jr. (Marilen), Kelly Vonhoupe, Lisa Myrick, Rodney Myrick (Belinda) and Tanya Chandler; grandchildren, Jonathan Brown, Roger Hicks II, Kimaiya Brown, Ryan Hicks, Abigail Montalvo and Jclen Montalvo; great-grandchildren, Melania Brown, Zyuanna Wise, Jariyan Brown, Jahauna Brown, Kendrick Brown, Elijah Brown and Amaiyah Brown; siblings, Herman Mack (Pearl), Martha Prewitt, Annie Lee Bishop (Robert James); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Eartha was born November 29, 1945 in Epps, Ala. She attended Dry Creek High School in Foster, Ala. She accepted Jesus as her personal savior at a very young age and strived to live a life that was holy and pleasing to God. Everyone who knew her knew that she loved the Lord from the abundance of her heart. As a young adult, she left Alabama to move to Columbus, Ohio. She resided in Columbus most of her adult life. She worked at Capital City Products for over 20 years and later changed careers to become a healthcare provider with American Nursing. Eartha was very passionate about the care she provided and was loved by all of her clients. She was a faithful member of Mt. Sinai Church of God in Christ until she moved to Virginia to live with her daughter. She then became a member of New Direction Evangelistic Church in Chesterfield, Va. Eartha loved anything that involved praising and serving the Lord! She enjoyed gardening and loved flowers. She was known for her outstanding cooking abilities and top-secret recipes. Laughter was her method of healing; she got a kick out of making everyone chuckle. She was always well dressed and adorned in a very fancy hat. She was very proud of her family and her home. Eartha is most recognized for being a loving mother. She did not know any strangers. She is deeply loved and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. The family would like to give a special thanks to Bishop and First Lady Foots and the entire New Direction family for your love and condolences; caregivers Kim Davis and Keondra Johnson; and Toni Allen, Anna Deri, Vinceretta Hicks, Kim Jordan and Sharon Lanier for the many visits, prayers, laughter and special gifts you shared. The family will receive friends 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, August 5, 2022 at Bliley’s-Chippenham, 6900 Hull Street Rd. A funeral ceremony will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday August 6, 2022 at New Direction Evangelistic Church, 9101 Hull Street Rd. Interment to follow at Washington Memorial Park.
