Obituary - Douglas M. Smith

SMITH, Douglas M, 80, of Highland Springs, passed away on Friday, October 13, 2023. Doug is survived by his devoted wife of 59 years, Virginia "Ginny" Smith; sons, Douglas Smith Jr. (Michelle) and David Smith (Courtney); bonus daughters, Michelle Patterson Shaver (Jeff) and Chrysta Denny (Jimmy); and grandson, Mason D. Smith. He is also survived by his brother, Donald Smith; sister, Geraldine Patterson; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Doug was loved by numerous other family members and friends especially those he worked with at Cushing Manufacturing from 1962 until his retirement in 2007.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Monday at the Mechanicsville Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee-Davis Rd, where services will be held 2 pm Tuesday, October 17. 2023. Interment will follow in Hanover Memorial Park.
