Dorothy Purks, 89, of Henrico, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 29, 2024.

"Dotsie" was born in North Carolina, but soon moved to Virginia. She was an only child, but had lots of "Carolina" cousins that meant the world to her. She married her high school sweetheart, Charlie, and they started a long life of love and family. She loved being a farmer's wife and raising her children. She was a woman of faith and led her children in that way of life. Her grand and great grands were her heart and she always said they were the greatest blessings in life. She will be greatly missed, but her love will live on in those littles and the ones to come.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leamon and Lenora Pounds; beloved husband, Charlie Purks Sr.; and son-in-law, Frank Trimmer.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Charlie Purks Jr. (Debra), Catherine "Tina" Trimmer, Pam Stoneman (Butch); grandchildren, Brandy Colgin (Brian), Lindsey Purks, Kaylen Purks, April Pruitt (Jay), Andrew Trimmer (fiancée - Lacee), John Trimmer (Molly), Casey Roberson (Duff), Becky Gates (Rob), Abbey Ayoub (Zack); great grandchildren, Tyler Colgin, Daniel Colgin, Austin Uzzle, Jase Uzzle, Sadie Pruitt, Banks Trimmer, Ellie Gates, and three on the way.

A celebration of Dot's life will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 10, 2024 at Four Mile Creek Baptist Church, 2950 New Market Rd., Henrico, Va. 23231, with a visitation 45 minutes prior to the service as well as after during reception.
