Obituary - Dorothy Jean Ball

Dorothy Jean Ball, 70, of Henrico, died on Friday, March 15, 2024, at Bon Secours St. Mary’s Hospital in Richmond, Virginia.

Dorothy Jean was born on January 28, 1954, in Columbia, SC to the late Robert Fulton Cayruth and the late Helen Tidwell Cayruth. She graduated from C.A. Johnson High School in Columbia, SC. Dorothy loved to model, take pictures, and ride a motorcycle. Sister Jennifer Gardner helped Dorothy to build a strong lasting relationship with Jehovah by studying the Bible with her. On June 22, 2019, Dorothy was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses with her family in attendance. She loved sharing the bible’s truths with her family, friends, those she met, and especially her children.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Ball, Sr.; her parents, Robert Fulton Cayruth and Helen Tidwell Cayruth; two brothers Robert Fulton Cayruth Jr. and Roger Cayruth; and a sister-in-law Nancy Griffin Cayruth.

She leaves to cherish her memory to her three children, Sheronda Napper, Kemone Mosley, and Bruce Ball, Jr. (Sambath) all of Richmond; three grandchildren Macyah Mosley, Zharia Napper, and Ahnari Ball; two brothers Matthew C. Cayruth (Scenaria) of Raleigh, NC and Reginald E. Cayruth (Lisa) of North Augusta, SC; a sister-in-law Mabel Cayruth of Richmond; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members; and a host of friends.

Dorothy will be remembered for her warm smile and outgoing personality toward everyone, young and old alike. She was much loved by friends in many places and will be truly missed. She also leaves behind many spiritual brothers and sisters who will fondly remember her.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 6 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 3699 Darbytown Rd., Richmond, VA 23231.
