Obituary - Doris Ann Schneider Steinbrecher

Doris Ann Schneider Steinbrecher, 94, of Glen Allen, passed away on October 31, 2022. She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony “Tony” Steinbrecher; parents, Thelma and Frederick Schneider; brother, Frederick Schneider, III; sisters, Grace Purks, Bobbi Vass; brother-law, Russ Purks. She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Murphy (Grayson); granddaughter, Megan Ballance (Ryan); great-grandson, Banks Ballance; niece, Sandy Rosner (Steve) of Tampa, Florida. She grew up on Oregon Hill and attended Binford School and John Marshall. She worked at Leggett Meyers Tobacco for 25 years. Doris loved going to our river house where she would sit on the swing overlooking the water while drinking her Coors Lite. All our friends at the river loved her and they would wait on her like she was a queen. She was the best mom and best friend anyone could ever ask for. She was also a wonderful grandma. She is up there with Tony and other family and friends; giving them all HELL and keeping them straight. The family would like to say a special thank you to Julia and Mary from Heart Home Care, Connie from At Home Care and our close friend, Roxana, for their love and kindness toward Doris. There will be a gathering of family and friends from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, November 7, 2022 at Bliley’s, 8510 Staples Mill Road. A Graveside service will be held at 12 p.m. on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Doris’ memory to the Alzheimer’s Foundation or the American Heart Foundation.
