Obituary - Dennis H. Fredrick

Dennis H. Fredrick, 74, of Henrico, passed away on September 29, 2022, after a short illness. He was predeceased by his parents, Annabelle and Harold Fredrick; as well as his sister, Linda; and brother, Tim.

Growing up in the shadow of George Washington’s Mt. Vernon estate, and having a father and grandfather who worked at the estate for many decades, Dennis developed a keen sense of history and patriotism. Music was also a love of his, and he played banjo and guitar in earlier years, maintaining a lifelong appreciation for the music of John Denver and others. He was involved in youth sports, supporting and attending football and soccer games, swim meets and dance recitals of his daughter, son and grandchildren. Dennis is survived by his wife of 53 years, Carol; his daughter, Kim Plaisted; son, Jason (fiancée Grace Seal); four grandchildren, Ansley, Stella, Olivia, and Wyatt; half-brothers, Jackie and Orval; extended family and friends; and his beloved furry companions, Maggie and Allie. A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 5, 2022, at Shady Grove United Methodist Church, 4825 Pouncey Tract Rd., Glen Allen. The service may be viewed online at shadygroveumc.net/livestream. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the Wounded Warrior Project.
