Obituary - David F. Gerould

GEROULD, David “Dave” F., 85, of Highland Springs, peacefully left his earthly home to be in his forever home with God on Tuesday, April 4, 2023. Dave was born in Battle Creek, Michigan to the late Gifford G. Gerould and Frances I. Gerould. He was preceded in death by his brother, Richard “Dick” Gerould and his canine companion, Boots. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Nancy Gay Gerould; children, Cindy Gerould, Laura Aaron (Hugh), Tammy Gerould (Pat), David Liles (Karen), and Lisa Pulliam (Mickey); grandchildren, Cory Liles (Kim), Jason Liles, Ashley Yacklon (Charlie), Ashley Bivins (Eric), Ben Aaron, Tori Pulliam, and Colby Liles; great grandchildren, Donavan, Sydney, Colson, Dawn, Corban, Avalynn, Jonah, Ava, and E.J; sister, Merilee Gerould; sister-in-law, Anna Gerould; and his canine companion, Rinna. Dave was a devoted Christian, attending Gethsemane Church of Christ for many years. He retired from United Airlines after 41 years of service. Dave loved to tell jokes to anyone he came in contact with and still had them to tell in his final days. He always greeted you with a smile and a handshake or a hug. He loved watching basketball, going to baseball games, bowling, listening to live gospel music and attending Christian conferences. Throughout their time, Dave and Nancy visited all 50 states together. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, April 13th at the Mechanicsville Chapel of the Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee Davis Rd., where a service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, April 14th. Interment will follow in Washington Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Gethsemane Church of Christ.
