David “Craig” West, 62, of Lakeside, Virginia, peacefully went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 23, 2022. He was preceded in death by his father, William “Bill” David West; and his mother, Doris “Dot” Williams West. Left to cherish his memory are his younger sister, Nevin West Hartman (John); his children; D. Hunter West (April), Lindsey West Traylor (Bryan) and Allison West Cain (Jesse); and their mother, Jan Bowles West.

Craig graduated from Henrico High School in 1977 and spent some time at Ferrum College. He spent a majority of his professional career at Aireco Supply, Inc. Craig never met a stranger, always lending a helping hand, and could sell ice to an Eskimo. He was an avid outdoorsman spending his weekends rabbit hunting, fishing in his canoe for smallmouth bass on the James River, or catching a baseball game. Craig was well-known for his larger-than-life personality & his infectious laugh which could be recognized anywhere. He was a jack-of-all trades, loved his children dearly & will be missed by many.

Craig wishes to spend eternity among the seas, so his ashes will be spread with his mother's in the Outer Banks, NC at a later date. He would have wanted to enjoy an ice cold beverage with you in celebration on his life, so the family asks that you enjoy your favorite in his memory. In lieu of flowers you may donate to the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources in his name. Lastly, special thanks to his family and caretakers at Morningside in the West End and Heritage Green in Mechanicsville.
