Catherine Ann Foy Roussos, March 21, 1959 - February 8, 2025
Our beloved “Katie”, aged 65, died after losing her battle against a rare cancer, Leiomyosarcoma. She is preceded in death by her brother David George Foy, father David Barthlemes Foy, and both paternal and maternal Grandparents. She loved a slogan her friend Margaret told her, “I’m fighting cancer, what’s your superpower?” She tried to live by the words of Padre Pio “Pray, Hope and Don’t Worry” and the medieval mystic Julian of Norwich who asserted with gratitude and optimism that “All will be well, all will be well, all manner of things shall be well.” She always hoped to leave the world a better place; and she absolutely did.
Katie leaves behind many cherished family members and friends both lifelong and more recent. Please keep her sons, Nicholas Roussos, Harrison Wells and Cameron Wells, daughter-in-law, Samantha, grandchildren Westley and Leighton and her devoted and loving husband Joseph Roussos in your prayers. She is also survived by her mother, Gayle Ann Foy; and by her sisters and brothers, Christine Purich, Margaret Foy Meinhart, Maureen Foy-Tornay, Colleen Foy, Kevin Foy, Karen Semler, Mary Ann Foy, Brian Foy, and Christopher Foy. She wanted to express her fond remembrance for the co-workers, students, and volunteers she encountered through Notre Dame Alumni, Scouting, Henrico County Schools, especially Varina HS, Longan Elementary, Carver Elementary, Tuckahoe Middle, Seven Pines Elementary, CARITAS and Monacan HS and her prayer groups. She expresses regret to anyone whom she may have harmed through word or deed because she knew her faults despite trying to live the gospel of Love. Katie loved music and singing and cherished her years cantoring and with the choir. Katie urges all to make a joyful noise, strive to make the world a better place (even if only for one person), and enjoy the diversity of the people we encounter. Laissez Les Bons Temps Rouler! Bonne Nuit, Je t’aime, Buenas Noches. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Catholic Church of the Epiphany on March 6th, 2025 at 1:00 pm. Visitation will be held from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm prior to the Mass. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Sacred Heart Center of Richmond at shcrichmond.org.
