Obituary - Billie Jean Holder Brockman

Billie Jean (Holder) Brockman, 62, of Varina, passed peacefully on Monday, September 5, 2022. She joins her parents who preceded her in passing, Billy and Mae Holder. Billie will be remembered with love by her devoted husband, John; sons, Jay (Lindsay) and Will (Beth); and a wealth of family and friends.

Billie was affectionately known as "BJ" by her friends, as "Sweetie" by her husband, and – her favorite title – as "Grandma BiBi" by her grandchildren, Edie Jean and Lincoln.

Grandma BiBi loved life. She found joy in knitting for loved ones and in caring for plants and animals, and was especially fond of her cat, Little Kitty; her dog, Nash; and her horse, Junior. She cherished trips to Ocracoke with friends and decorated her home in found shells. She was happy with a kitchen full of home-cooked meals and the laughter of family. Grandma BiBi, of course, served everyone before herself. Her kindness and humor live on through the family and friends whose lives she bettered through her generous nature.

A visitation will be held at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Avenue, Saturday September 10, 2022, from 6 to 8 p.m.
