Betty Jean Oakley Peele passed away peacefully on September 16, 2023. She was born on April 06, 1938, to Aubrey and Euzelia Oakley. She is survived by her loving husband Donnie Peele; two sons Jason and Todd Peele, daughter-in-law Teresa Leighty-Peele; granddaughter Skylar Peele; grandson Brody Peele, and great-grandson Brayson Peele.
Betty was always a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmama dedicated to serving the Lord. Betty attended Richmond Baptist Temple, now known as Lighthouse Baptist Church, where she has been a devoted member for 62 years. Betty worked at Macoy Publishing and Masonic Supply for over 30 years as a billing clerk.
After being diagnosed with dementia, 5 years ago she had deterioration in health and passed away peacefully in hospice care at St. Mary’s Hospital surrounded by family.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 20th, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Bliley’s, 8510 Staples Mill Road, Henrico, VA. A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 21st, at Lighthouse Baptist Church, 5608 Staples Mill Rd, Henrico, VA, with family receiving friends 45 minutes prior. Interment at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
