Betty Helfert Taylor went to be with our Lord and Savior on April 27, 2021. She passed away peacefully at her home in Henrico, VA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Frank Helfert and Ruby Vernell Helfert, and her loving husband of 54 years, Carroll E. Taylor, Sr.

Betty graduated from Highland Springs High School, met her husband while working at The Federal Reserve Bank, and retired from the International Mission Board in August 2002.

Betty was a devoted member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church for over 50 years. She sang in the choir, one of her passions, taught at the church day care as well as Sunday School, and served as a Deacon.

She is survived by her children; Carroll (Page), Julie (Lee), Tim (Kimberly), Linda and Blackie; seven grandchildren, April (John), Roxanne, Cassidy (Corey), Davis, Mark (April), Danny (Whitney), Megan (Andrew); 8 great grandchildren; nephews Ralph Helfert (LaVerne) and Scott Helfert (Karrie), and many beloved family members and friends.

There will be a viewing on Sunday, May 2, 2021 at 4:00pm at Bennett Funeral Home, located at 11020 W. Broad Street, Glen Allen, VA 23060. Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 3, 2021 at 2:00pm at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church located at 11220 Nuckols Road, Glen Allen, VA 23059. Interment to follow services immediately at Mt. Vernon Memorial Park.
