Beth Bowman Anderson went to be with her Lord at the age of 64 on March 7, 2024. Beth was proudly born and raised in Yorktown, VA. A graduate of the University of Richmond, it was on Richmond’s campus where she met and got engaged to her future husband of 42 years, Jon. Life took their family to Atlanta, GA, and Baltimore, MD before bringing Beth back to the state she so loved in 2003.

Beth is remembered as a loving and selfless wife, mother, and friend. Her passion for volunteering kept her busy: whether it was Vacation Bible School, Girl Scouts, high school marching band, or teaching Sunday School, Beth dedicated herself to a life of service to others. She loved deeply and always found the little moments of joy in each day, whether that was a perfect cup of tea, a walk in the neighborhood with family, a good snuggle with the dog, or watching the birds in the backyard. Beth believed you should never wait for a special occasion to use the good stuff – being alive was a special occasion.

Beth was preceded in death by her parents, James Scarboro Bowman Jr. and Rachel Coble Bowman. She is survived by her husband, Jonathan Anderson, of Glen Allen, VA; her daughter, Sarah Anderson, of Glen Allen, VA; her two brothers, Jim Bowman III and his wife Diana of Burlington, NC, and David Bowman and his wife Ellen of Cincinnati, OH; and many cherished nieces, nephews, and grand- nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 16, 2024 at Shady Grove United Methodist Church, 4825 Pouncey Tract Rd, Glen Allen, VA 23059.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shady Grove United Methodist Church in Short Pump, VA.
