Obituary - Barbara Joan McClanahan

Barbara J. McClanahan, 83, of Varina, passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2024. She was a retired employee of VCU and a member of Fort Lee Baptist Church and the Varina American Legion Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George Self and Mary Vestel Hopper Faulkner; siblings, Sandra Ralston and Kenneth, Jerry and Ronnie Faulkner; and a granddaughter, Shannon Osborne.
She is survived by siblings, Margaret Camerer and Jimmy Faulkner; children, Jeneine Beasley (Ron), Mark Dunnigan (Trudy), Matt Dunnigan, Sr. (Lori) and James McClanahan III (Jill); grandchildren, Becky Rouse (Raif), Eric Beasley (Ashley), Kyle Dunnigan, Matthew Dunnigan, Jr. (Julie) and Michael Dunnigan (Crystal); great-grandchildren, Addieson “Addie”, Micah and Ronan; and many cherished friends.
The family will receive friends Monday, January 22, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, VA 23231.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 23, at 10 a.m. at Fort Lee Baptist Church, 2727 Charles City Rd., Richmond, VA 23231.
Interment will follow at Washington Memorial Park.
